So what makes you come alive? – that was the question I posed to you last week in the first of the blog series #pauseforrefelction. Thanks to all who shared their ‘aliveness’ – we had everything from dancing, watching the sun rise, being in nature, swimming, being with people I love… Thank you for all your feedback – I love hearing your stories and insights. It spurs me on! If you missed it go to www.wisdominone.com.au/blogs. We all get another chance this week – week 2 as we try to build in some pause for reflection so you can live more deliberately and transform the way you live.
This week I’ve been even more deliberate about observing my environment particularly on my early morning walks. I especially love the little joeys as they observe me observing them. I had the most glorious butterfly visit my garden – pictured here. She’s as big as the palm of my hand – it takes my breath away every time I see her. I’ve also enjoyed a slow paddle board on the Lake and watched the world go by on the shoreline. And yes, amongst it all, I have worked and cared for my loved ones including a matter that has me questioning humanity. I’m trying to see everything I do as a form of devotion. It’s not easy, but there is a reverence in stilling the mind as I wrote about last time, a gift in being able to serve others.
So – the next question to ponder is - How do I measure success?
We live in a society where we are spurred on to have everything bigger and better – salaries, cars, houses, holidays, job titles. Social media has only served to heighten a lot of status anxiety. Aren’t we lucky that most of us live such privileged lives that we don’t have to worry about when the next pay check is coming or whether we can afford to buy food to feed our families.
The bigger question is does your measure of success serve you? It may be tied up in your identity…so much of our identity is wrapped up in what we have, who we hang around with and what we do. I challenge you to look inside, deep inside and ask what if I looked beyond all that - what would I have left? What would your measure of success be then?...this may well be a true ‘pause for reflection’ moment!
Keep Shining,

At Wisdom in One, our commitment is to a practical and holistic approach to achieving life balance for the mind, body, heart and soul; ensuring we take care of ourselves, each other and the world in order to create a better future for our children.
By looking at and developing awareness about how we live, lead and work, we can create a powerful sense of 'knowing' and consciousness about what impact we have on our own lives, our health, others around us and our environment. By tapping into this wisdom, we can grow, change and live a fuller, rich life and make positive and enlightened contributions. We not only believe but know that LEADERSHIP IS A RESPONSIBILITY AND IT IS SACRED – Leaders have real-time impact on a community’s stability, sustainability and collective wellbeing.
The challenge - To truly understand that what we give out eventually comes back to us.
