Transform your way of living…

Pause for Reflection #4 - Questions for transforming the way we live

I hope you have backed your best-self over the past week. And if not, tomorrow as you pause for reflection, brings another opportunity, a possibility to try some other way!

Change is in the air….I’m enjoying watching how the leaves on the old oaks in our street are just starting to turn – autumn is knocking.  A reminder of the cycles we all live by and the opportunity those cycles continue to present to us.  Cycles also mean constant change and sometimes renewal.  Change requires adjustment that may bring discomfort.  Sometimes change is slow, sometimes fast; sometimes it feels brutal or devasting, alternatively it can bring joy.  And sometimes it’s all those things at once.  It can be especially challenging when we have no control over the change.  It’s a reminder that life is full of joy and pain (and everything in between) – but suffering, as the old mystics say, is an option.  Like any emotional state, we have some agency over how far down into the depths of that emotion we delve.  I’m aware that part of my own life-long learning is about being comfortable with the uncomfortable.

I’m in constant awe of the old gum trees on my morning walks in the bush just near my home.  Some of them are sacred trees to the local indigenous Ngunnawal peoples.  They show the scars of life – fire, drought, age.  The Earth has much to teach us if we listen carefully.  It has ritual and cycles that are constant change.  To live well, we need to accept and go with what life throws at us with a quiet heart. Co-founders of the Wild Church Network, Victoria Loorz and Valerie Luna Serrels are passionate about helping people reconnect to the sacred wildness of the earth and recognise how it connects us to our own stories.  They write - “To remain alive, our old narratives need to be connected with new meaning particular to our geographies and context.”  That context may seem brutal and punishing at the times, but as the great sages teach us, this too shall pass… morphing into something different for us to negotiate, think about and navigate.  To choose to act or react as appropriate (or indeed inappropriately) is a choice – we don’t always get it right but that is what it means to be human!

If we orientate our energies and surrender to the present moment and moving forward rather than grieve what was, could have been or battle against what is, then we can find a new rhythm.  A momentum that connects with our joy and our inner quiet with a whole lot more ease.

This week as you #pauseforreflection, consider >>

What could you do to bring more ease into your life when navigating any change?

As ever, the challenge - To truly understand that what we give out eventually comes back to us.

Until next time….Keep Shining,

At Wisdom in One, our commitment is to a practical and holistic approach to achieving life balance for the mind, body, heart and soul; ensuring we take care of ourselves, each other and the world in order to create a better future for our children.

By looking at and developing awareness about how we live, lead and work, we can create a powerful sense of 'knowing' and consciousness about what impact we have on our own lives, our health, others around us and our environment. By tapping into this wisdom, we can grow, change and live a fuller, rich life and make positive and enlightened contributions. We not only believe but know that LEADERSHIP IS A RESPONSIBILITY AND IT IS SACRED – Leaders have real-time impact on a community’s stability, sustainability and collective wellbeing.

The challenge - To truly understand that what we give out eventually comes back to us.
